INTRODUCTION

Closer Than Most is a collaboration with our nearest neighbours, Heaney Brewery — a modern New Zealand Pilsner brewed to be clean, expressive and effortlessly drinkable. Built on a crisp continental-style malt base and layered with vibrant New Zealand hops, it balances classic lager precision with bright, contemporary flavour. The goal was simple: keep it sharp, keep it refreshing, and let the hops do the talking.

FLAVOUR PROFILE

Pours pale gold with a tight white head. The aroma leads with passionfruit, lime zest and soft ripe peach from the New Zealand hops. The malt base is light and slightly bready, giving just enough structure without getting in the way. Bitterness is clean and snappy, finishing dry with a crisp, refreshing edge that invites the next sip.

HOW IT WAS MADE

A clean lager base, built for hop expression and drinkability:

• Dingemans Pilsner malt → crisp, clean backbone
• Wheat addition → improved head retention and softness
• Vienna malt → light bready depth and balance
• Rakau & NZ Cascade Amplifire → passionfruit, lime and ripe peach character
• Fermentis W34/70 → clean fermentation and a sharp, dry finish
